| Baldrige Process News July 27, 2006 The Panel of Judges met on July 27, 2006 to select the organizations that will move forward in the 2006 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award process. Of the 86 organizations that applied, 49 will receive additional evaluations by teams of Examiners. The group is comprised of 10 education and 22 health care organizations, two manufacturing and two service companies, and three small businesses. The ten nonprofit pilot applicants will also be included.
There are a total of 86 Baldrige Award applications this year, with the Award category breakdown as follows: Manufacturing (3); Service (4); Small Business (8); Health Care (45); Education (16); and Nonprofit (10). For additional information, please read the NIST Tech Beat news item .
